Post-Visit Activity for Bella the Butterfly (links between plants and animals):
Objectives:
1. State what they have learned from investigations, relating their inferences to scientific knowledge and to data they have collected.
2. Explain how some of the changes on the earth are contributing to changes in the balance of life and affecting the survival or population growth of certain species.
For 7th to 8th grade Science
The students will pair up and research, using 3 or more recent sources of information, their own plant and animal interaction. After researching for 2 fifty-minute periods the pairs will then give a 5-minute skit or speech about their plant and animal interaction. Students need to supplement the speech with a visual aid such as a poster or costume. The speech or skit should bring up how changes on earth affect their plant and animal interaction. Students should offer some solutions to the changes or raise questions concerning the importance of their interaction. A bibliography of the sources used should be turned in before the speech or skit is given.
