Monona Trails & Terrain



A few simple rules will make everyone's trip to the Aldo Leopold Nature Center an enjoyable experience. For the protection of the land and everyone's enjoyment:

Please-

  • Stay on the trails
  • Do not pick wildflowers and plants
  • Refrain from picnicking or eating
  • Leave dogs and pets at home
  • Do not use bicycles or motorized vehicles
  • Respect all living things
  • Remember, you are Nature's guest!

Leopold Interpretive Trail
This award-winning trail leads visitors through examples of native Wisconsin habitats, with easy to understand explanations of various sites and questions that Aldo Leopold might have asked you, had he been standing next to you on the trail!
