Other Abbreviations and Symbols

• A plus sign (+) next to a Nature Center’s name indicates a visit to the Center, in conjunction with pre-visit and/or post-visit classroom activities conducted by the teacher, would fulfill the standard.

• An asterisk (*) next to a Nature Center’s name indicates that the Center can offer a special program to fulfill the standard.

Please keep in mind that many of the centers are highly flexible in their offerings and can modify or develop programs to fit the needs of your class. In fact, certain centers do not have set programs but prefer to do special programs that are specifically adapted to fit each class. Nature Net educators talk with each teacher to determine the content of a program, then develop an educational experience that reflects the learning needs of the class.
